Background

Since our inception as Netdecisions Investments in 1998, we have sought opportunities to develop start-up growth businesses. There have been multiple phases to our investment approach:

Dot com era (1998 - 2000)

Along with Agilisys, the main investments in this period were .com investments in various B2C services. All four companies made the Sunday Times E-league of 100 promising internet companies in 1999 and all four were successfully sold.

Technology products (2000-2003)

Drawing on the dot com experiences, investments were made in software development companies, especially through R&D offices in Mumbai and Cambridge.

Financial services (2003 onwards)

New opportunities and a rising debt burden in the UK spurred investment in financial services, working with experienced entrepreneurs in the finance sector.

Rights (2003 onwards)

Exploitation of content and broadcasting rights, especially of digital media, presented new opportunties for investment, in the UK and India.

To date, our investment strategy has been a mixture of opportunistic and strategic. The portfolio has now matured into a valuable group of businesses.
