The British Asian Trust organised a special one-day International cricket match between India and Pakistan on Tuesday 3rd July 2007 in Glasgow, that was to be attended by His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Organised by the British Asian Trust and sponsored by the Future Group, The Future Friendship Cup, was to be played at Citylets Titwood, Beaton Road, Glasgow and raised money for charitable work in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka as well as in the United Kingdom.
Unfortunately, the Glasgow weather meant that the event was washed out, and a sell-out crowd of 5000 were disappointed. Both India and Pakistan have expressed their wish to play the match at a future date. The primary objective of raising significant funds of more than £1.5m has been guaranteed as the event was insured. And all tickets will be refunded from the original point of sale.
